Village cricket, famously the hub of an English rural community, The Cricketers lives up to its namesake. Steeped in a history of family, fine food and exceptional hospitality we look forward to introducing you to our newly refurbished interiors.
The bar and dining areas have been sympathetically updated, reimagined spaces, inspired by the original 16th century fabric of the building. Brickwork and beams complimented by copper, wood paneling and gentle colours and textures, Our bedrooms, also refreshed, bringing the Essex countryside, inside with floral and botanical inspired fabrics, papers and paints.
Hospitality remains at the centre of all we do, delivered by The Cricketers familiar and much loved team, seasoned players looking forward to welcoming you back.
Anything else just wouldn’t be cricket!
Clavering, “a place where clover grows” as well as some notable chefs, is nestled amidst beautiful North West Essex rolling countryside, close to the boarders of both Hertfordshire and Cambridgeshire. On the doorstep, walks, cycle routes and idyllic thatched cottages. A stones throw from the historic town of Saffron Walden offering shops, cafes and culture. Allegedly the most important meal of the day, breakfast here is worth getting out of bed for.
No need to leave when it's time to draw stumps.
