CLAVERING

Our medieval village sits on the river Stort and is surrounded by fields as far as the eye can see. We have a surprising seven village greens:  Stickling Green, Starlings Green, Roast Green, Sheepcote Green, Birds Green, Deers Green and Halls Green. The later being home to our village cricket club.

Clavering retains much of its olde world charm with thatched cottages and wonky timber framed houses. The history of the village runs as far back Norman times with the remains of Clavering Castle still visible as ringworks and earth works.

Clavering, means the place where clovers grow.
